Have you wondered you’ve been working hard to improve your life but you’re not feeling anywhere closer to being successful in it? Chances are you might be showing a few signs of self-sabotage and are going unnoticed.
Let’s examine if you are experiencing any of these signs:
1. Over planning
Planning is good as it lets us get ahead in a systematic manner. However, the downside of it is that many of us use it to avoid taking action. We’d rather come up with an awesome detailed plan than actually act on it. Its because we are using it as a procrastination tool. Its good to have a feeling of being organized, but you have to make sure you’re taking action for the planning to be worth it.
2. Lack of commitment
Have you ever started something and then given up halfway through because it wasn’t giving you the results you expected? You can’t always expect immediate success. Success happens when you commit to yourself and your ideas, even when it feels like nothing is happening during the course of implementation.
3. Needing inspiration
Needing inspiration is another way you procrastinate without realizing it. Instead of getting started, you search for answers with the mindset that you need something inspiring to take the first step. When you keep searching for answers, you might feel even more overwhelmed. Dig into what you already know and get started before you know the answers.
4. Being rigid about Image
Have you been overthinking the way you define yourself? You might think you can’t do something because your personality isn’t right. We are all multi-faceted, and it doesn’t have to be something that holds you back. What holds you back is thinking that you have to have a certain type of personality to be successful or if you have another type of personality you cannot do something.
5. Inconsistency
Consistency is vital to success. If you lack consistency in your work, your behavior, or your daily routine, you’ll find it difficult to actually make progress.
If you are experiencing one or more of these signs, its time for you to pause, take a step back and change the your way of approach. Seeking help of a life coach could help you chart a new path.
